quote of the week…

20 02 2009

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our dark that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people don’t feel insecure around you.We are all meant to shine as children do. Its not just in some of us; its in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

what a wonderful maker….

19 02 2009

What a wonderful maker
What a wonderful savior
How majestic your whispers
And how humble your love
With a strength like no other
And the heart of a father
How majestic your whispers
What a wonderful God

These are the words that whisper in my heart tonight….

How often do you just stop and tell yourself that you have a WONDERFUL Maker?  Wonderful in fact can not even begin to describe our Maker.  I am not a dad, but I can not wait to be someday, so it might be difficult for me to understand but I dont know if I could ever sacrifice my son for everyone who has ever wronged me, for everyone who has ever wronged someone else, for everyone who will ever sin against me.  What kind of love is that???  It is WONDERFUL kind of love.  An ETERNAL kind of love.

We can look all over this world and point out all the bad things that are going on…maybe you are struggling through those things right now.  One thing is clear, and will always be clear, we have a King that loves us so much.  A King that removes those sins as far as east is from west (Psalm 103:12) and a Savior whose love is so great that He saves us from the depths of death (Psalm 86:13). We can all try to escape this Love, we can try to hide from it, but it will find you wherever you go, He will always be near you, and if you have faith and believe He will always be in you.  What a WONDERFUL Maker!!!!  What a WONDERFUL Savior!!!  We can not even fathom how truly great YOU are!!!!

Realize that you are blessed to be here.  Realize that you have been given more than you could ever deserve.  Your money, your time, your gifts and talents, your relationships, everything….its not yours.  Its HIS.  Use these things for His glory, not your own.  Remember, He sent His only Son that you might be granted eternal Love.  Be a blessing to those around you. What a WONDERFUL God!!!

something to ponder….

How come you press harder on a remote when you know the battery is dead?

the narrow way…

15 02 2009

The destiny of every human being depends on his relationship to Jesus Christ.  It is not on his relationship to life, or on his service or his usefulness, but simply and solely on his relationship to Jesus Christ.

things to ponder….

11 02 2009

If WalMart is lowering prices daily, how come nothing in the store is free yet?

basketball is done…

7 02 2009

Well basketball season is over….most people are happy to move on to the next thing, and admittedly, so am I.  Yet so much of me wants basketball to continue.  I truly love my girls, as if they were my own.  They always say that you never forget your first team that you coached, and that will truly be something that I will live up to.  My girls have been so amazing and fun, and even in my short time with them I had the opportunity to see them grow and change as basketball players and as young women.  I will never forget this basketball season.  I love my girls and pray the best for them all.  I ask that you pray for them as well, that they do find freedom in Christ.   So I look forward to track season, where hopefully I can continue to work with each one of them and love on them, but I will always remember this basketball season.

Dunbar defeats Alderson…

4 02 2009

It was yet another thrilling victory for the Dunbar Lady Panthers as the soared back from an 8 point deficit in the second half to win 31-28.  This thrilling come from behind victory is something that I do not wish to make a habit, as the last two games, and my first two as head coach, have been trying on my nerves lol.  I love my girls, but is there anyway that we could pull off one of those 50-10 victories, i mean if its not too much to ask for.  Its only been 2 games and i feel as if I am already growing gray hair lol.  We close out the season with the city tournament starting this Thursday and hopefully lasting into Saturday.  It would be awesome to bring home a little city championship trophy to cap off the season! These girls deserve it after the hard work they have put in!  So come on out and support the Lady Panthers this thursday and friday!!
